Experience with Microsoft Word

I have always had positive experiences with word. That is the word proccessing software that I asm most familiar with and have used the most, so that is the one that I prefer. The tools in Word seem easy to use and there are so many options for formating that you can utilize. I have also used google docs and like it as well, however I mostly only use it for when I am collaborating with someone on a paper.

ISTE Standards for Educators

Of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards, the one that is most meaningful to me is 2.4, Collaborator. In this, educators deticate time for collaboration with students and collegues to improve their skills as an educator in different ways. I beleiev that this is very important because communication is incredibly important for an educator to effectively do their job. If they are collaborating and communicating with their students and collegues, they are going to better understand their students' educational needs and will learn new strategies and gain new resources to do so, and improve themselves as educators.

Digital Native

I agree with the label digital native. I think that it is easier for youth who grew up with todays technology to use it and that because they grew up with it it is a little bit more intuitive for them. Typically in the past, I have been able to see the differen ce between students and teachers and their level of knowledge about technology use, with students (digital natives) typically finding it more intuitive than teachers (digital immigrants). Future teachers who are digital nitives now will likely have similar problems as technology rapidly changes, however just because you aren't a native doesn't mean you can;'t learn just as well.

Newsletter Assignment

For my newsletter assignment, I want to make it colorful and include important information and dates about the semester. The grade level that I have selected for this assignment is 9th grade. The subject of the newsletter is about French I, and the events that are going on at the beginning of the school year for French I students. My first tip for this assignment is to choose a color scheme so the colors fit well together. It should also be designed in sections that are fit together in an asthetically pleasing way but not too symmetrical.
